We just don’t seem to be able to get beyond Beyoncé and Jay Z’s beautiful baby Blue Ivy’s hair. Though Miss Bey made quite the showing at the VMA’s this past Sunday night, performing a near twenty minute medley prior to winning the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, talk next day was as much about Blue Ivy as her mom. Above and beyond the blogosphere and tabloids printing opinions of how adorable the two year old is, big news was (and is still being made) over a comment Karrueche Tran made on a BET “106 & Park” skit called “Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought At The VMAs.” Quipping as the 2 year old, Karrueche said: “I really did wake up like this, because my parents never comb my hair.”
She has received more than just criticism over her remarks, indeed she has seen death threats about going too far mocking a child. And a producer from the BET show just got fired.
Whether Karrauche’s comments were or were not in bad taste one thing is for sure, fashion-hair-celebrity is as always making news and getting people talking, more so then any hard news ever does. Blue Ivy has had her locks messed with before, and probably will still.
Jay Z and Beyoncé’ put their little one in the thick of things, so “disses” like this are bound to happen. But in real life, as a non celeb, none of us wants our hair cut mocked, certainly those of us who wear hair; for the most part we don’t want it noticed very much at all.
