Something like the 92nd Academy Awards telecast (better known as ‘The Oscars’) certainly brings out the fashionistas. Couture, jewelry, and yes, hairstyles were on full red-carpet display and talked and tweeted about days later. From your friendly neighborhood N.J. hair replacement salon, here is what we noticed.
In one of our blogs recently, we mentioned the controversy over De’Andre Arnold’s hair. He is the Texas high school student who was suspended for wearing dreadlocks, and until he cuts them according to his school’s regulation, is not allowed to participate in his graduation ceremony, Arnold was invited to Los Angeles to attend the Oscars, by former N.B.A. player Dwyane Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union. The duo produced the winning short animated film “Hair Love.”
Iconic actress and activist Jane Fonda, presenting the 92nd Academy Award’s Best Picture award (“Parasite” won) ‘went grey.’ Forgoing her usual blonde bob for a silvery pixie, the lady certainly made heads turn.
Janelle Monáe, came into the Oscars wearing a curve-hugging silvery dress with a hood. When she presented the opening night’s song medley, she was dressed like Mr. Rogers, complete with a tight little bowler hat….looking fetching as always.
As expected, Billie Eilish sported her signature neon lime green and black hair color combination. And Elton John, what has now become his signature hair piece.
Sunday night, the Hollywood elite showed us all what America royalty looks like. We can dream of haute couture, movie-making acclaim, and all those beautiful Updo’s, cuts, and colors, but in the end, it is practicality married with a style that works best for the rest of us. And as we have championed primarily at Guci Image, men and women come to us for a hair replacement option that best suits their lifestyle practically and sees them bolster their confidence daily with the best style suited to them.
