It’s sometimes hard for those of us who wear hair hard not to view life with a ‘me’ against ‘them’ suspicion. We assume plenty of people are wearing hairpieces, extensions, wigs, or have undergone hair transplants, while there are plenty who have not…nor ever will. And this is just in everyday life. When one happens to look across the array of celebrity hairstyles we see daily, on both men and women, one can’t help but wonder who is sporting a hairpiece, hair transplants, or goes out and about with some sort of hair addition regularly.
Then there are the obvious moments.
The stunning array of hair changes in Jennifer Lopez’s latest video, “In The Morning,” makes clear, once again, how wigs, extensions, and so many different hair wear techniques are used across the magic-making of Hollywood.
And Hollywood is as far from Paramus, N.J. as one could dream.
In the video seeing wide release this week, the 51-year-old Lopez sports long straight white locks, her hair pulled back and plastered on her head with an added long braid, a short curly wig, an even shorter, lighter straggly look, and a stunning chin-length white wig (to match her form-fitting gown). And just about at the conclusion of the clip, Lopez is ‘captured’ in a glittery head cage. Making full use of the higher end of video magic, talented stylists, and at times, her rather amazing sculptured body (Lopez is naked in a few shots, sporting only a pair of angel wings) “In The Morning,” is a tour de force.
Lopez writes on her Instagram page about the video: “It’s full of symbolism about a dark one-sided relationship and the realization that you can’t change anyone else … you can only change yourself!!!” Which is all probably true (see the clip here to decide for yourself). But for men and women who wear hair, always wondering who else might be, once again here is an indication of who is indeed wearing what.
